SUPPORT AND MEETING WITH FARMERS The President of Municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić and Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Office Sasa Stoiljković talked about how the program is supporting measures in the implementation of agricultural policy and rural development in Palilula, in order to improve the quality of life and diversification of economic activities in rural areas of the municipality, in the year 2014. It was agreed to that on the program, which includes Incentives, Interest-free farm loans, insurance production, incentives for the breeding animals, investment in roads and other infrastructure, irrigation, land rent, hail protection, operational plan for flood protection, should be discussed with citizens of the Citizens Council, and it will be organized by 18-24th of June in settlements in the rural area of Palilula. There are 15 villages in Palilula muniipality that rely on narrow city area (Lalinac, Krušce, Mramor, Mramorski Potok, Novo Selo, Cokot, Donje Međurovo, Gornje Međurovo, Bubanj Selo, Pasi Poljana, Donje Vlase, Gabrovac, Berbatovo, Vukmanovo Suvi Do). The total acreage in Palilula is 7,395 ha. Of that, 6,648 ha of arable land and 747 ha of pastures. "Strategic Development Plan", as the primary task and priority management set activities of the municipality, is based on the "revival" of the villages, which is expected to be the basis of sustainable development in municipality of Palilula, said the president Boban Džunić. Thanks to our project activities, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the City of Nis, in the past two years, in the territory of Palilula there were roads made with a total length of about 20 kilometers. The value of the works, in the words of President Dzunic, is about fourteen million dinars. Palilula Municipality is one of the few municipalities in the region, which has a clear set of guidelines and strategic development plan of the municipality-action plan, timed until 2016, in accordance to the initiatives and demands of the citizens of the municipality. This is very important for our villages and our farmers because we know what kind of conditions are currently underway in the field of agricultural production.
